George Melies
George Melies was a french illusionist and a famous filmmaker for leading many technical and narrative developments in the earliest days of cinema. Melies accidentally did a special effect where he discovered the substitution stop trick that happened in 1896 and he was one of the filmmakers to use a multiple exposures, time lapse photography, dissolves, and hand painted colour his work.
